As a gun guy in Florida I’m disappointed with Desantis, he should have insisted on open carry be part of the bill he is going to sign, like the other 26 constitutional carry states. There are some interesting caveats that come along with constitutional carry, and people who don’t have permits are going to go to jail for breaking laws that you are not protected by unless you have a carry permit, for example.
“Finally, it is important to remember that under the federal gun free school zone act, unless you have a CWFL, you are committing a Federal crime punishable up to 5 years in prison if you carry a firearm within 1,000 feet of a gun free school zone.”
This school zone thing is just one example, but it’s a biggie that people are going to end up getting arrested for, jmo.
