San Antonio is the largest city in the United States that’s not home to an NFL team.
Currently the seventh-largest American city — and the second-largest in the state of Texas, behind only Dallas — San Antonio is home to more than 1.4 million people. San Diego is the only other non-NFL city with a population of at least 1 million.

Largest State Without an NFL Team

Virginia is the most-populous state — with approximately 8.7 million resident — that’s not home to an NFL team. That could change, however, if the Washington Commanders’ new ownership builds a new stadium in the country’s 12th-largest state.
