What's up everyone. As we are now single digit days away from the NFL season starting back up, i'm sure a lot of ya'll will be entering fantasy football leagues, pick em pools and Eliminator challenges.

I'm going to use this thread weekly to post strategy and potential teams to be looking for on a week to week basis.

I personally have 2 entries. So this thread could go all season and could be over week 3 if I'm out early and lose interest hahahaha

So every week I'll highlight who is on my radar for potential teams to use and have the weekly discussion.

One of m entries I have picked all 18 weeks, however I will adjust weekly based on obvious changes and injuries and teams who suck and teams who prevail

One entry will be just picking each week with no future strategy looming

The fun part of this contest is when and when not to use teams. Do we save KC for later week, but if you get eliminated then saving KC means nothing. Can't always take the biggest spread because upsets happen.

Another strategy of mine is I TRY TO....and I say again TRY TO always pick home teams. Stay away from division match ups unless it's the bottom 3 teams of the league.

It's a long season and you have to pick 18 winners out of 32 teams. maybe 15-16 if there is splitting potential. So overall you will have to pick smaller spreads or rely on team you don't love to win for the week

I remember losing last year Picking JAX over houston. and of fukking course the one time I take Jax is when they lose at home to houston. SUCKED!!!!

Anyway, hope anyone that plays follows along and maybe we find a winner here

good luck

WEEK 1.....
KC....home to Lions. Defending superbowl champs, at home, and against a Lions team who many expect to be the winners of their division. But it's still the Lions. How much do you trust a team that has the stereotype of the Lions and haven't made the playoffs since 2016 and won a playoff game since 1991. Also it's KC..they are gonna get 10+ wins this season. They will be favorites at home all season long. Do you take KC week 1 or save them for later. That's the the fun

Vikings...home to Bucs... Vikings offense expects to have same results as they have the last few years. high powered offense with no real reason to think it should let down. TBAY of course lost it's biggest weapon in Tom Brady and now rely on Baker Mayfield at starting QB. This goes against my division theory where a lot of times division games are always grittier match ups and close hard fought score lines. I'll pass here, but a good potential pick

Commanders...home to Cardinals. In terms of spread the line here is around 7. Arizona is arguably top 2 worst team in league with houson. however, can we trust the commanders overall offense and team as a whole. Commanders will get their wins and you can argue that this is a perfect opportunity to use Commanders since you would use them very often. I just don't love them week 1 with so many unknown variables for a eliminator contest

Ravens....home to Texans. Likely the top used team for week 1 and obvious reasons. healthy Lamar against the worst team in the league. not much more to say. if ravens lose week 1 at home to Houston, it's as embarrassing as possible

so those 4 teams are only spreads above 6. you can use any team and you can pick Houston if you wanted, not a good strategy but fukk it haha.

me personally, one entry I have down for Baltimore and I'm still deciding on entry #2

I think you got the four teams that I feel most confident about in week 1. Personally I spread out my exposure between Minnesota, Baltimore and Washington in the several survivor contests I'm playing in this year. I like the Chiefs this week too but I don't want to use one of the best teams early on like that because as the weeks go on it gets tougher to find teams in good spots and I always feel like you can't go wrong with the Chiefs so why use them early when you can reserve them for later?

Thats the strategy. If you wait to use KC then get eliminated then it sucks you waited

but to survive you have to figure out best time to use the top teams

That's very true and I'm not sure there is a better time to use KC than this week looking at their schedule. Maybe week 3 at home against Chicago but you have to make it to week 3 first. So I guess KC is in the conversation this week as well.
