People shouldn't be getting fired for private opinions.

Yes, it was caught on tape, but it wasn't a public release or broadcast associated w the team or league.

If we were honest, and expressed our feelings & thoughts in interviews, nobody would ever work again on this basis.

It's gone too far.

Fatty gets it can you even imagine somebody recording ever word you ever said in a bar while your three sheets to the wind with your buddies or talking up a woman trying to get laid. GTFOH with that nonsense 👎

Exactly....
The chick covertly recorded this. You can tell the camera was hidden by the angle. I wonder if he knew it was an "interview" or if the chick was using that as a scam to get him to open up?

A. He ain’t wrong
B. That’s the thing about holding a high profile position - you don’t go out, get drunk and start voicing unpopular opinions.

It’s simple - there are 1000 people lined up ready and capable of doing the job - when you have it you don’t do stupid shit that puts your position in jeopardy.

This is why I’m thankful to do what I do - I’m not easily replaced. Unlike this dumbass - VP of Content. How many damn football players graduate with a degree in Media Studies ? Like 40% - they all think once their playing days are over they will be an announcer or have a radio show for the local station.

A. He is wrong. Most fans are mouth breathers? Are you a mouth breather, Jeff?

B. He shouldn't be fired for a private conversation

Do I like the way he was set up here - no.

Does that change what he said - no.

Again - realize your position and not everyone is a “friend” - plenty of people will take advantage to gain a few dollars or a second of popularity.

He shouldn’t have been fired for a private opinion - but it’s no longer private. It’s out there and no way to hide this as an organization. Given it’s an organization that’s had plenty of PR issues the past few years - he had to go. I mean it’s not like he was ignorant of the culture issues at his employer. Sometimes you just have to be overly cautious.

I agree. Especially since this was a hidden camera conversation. It should have never made it back to the team. Sounds like he was setup

Isn't that lady a journalist though ? How are you going to be that candid in front of a media type wtf lol.

Who knows if she disclosed this fact.

This is where it gets “troublesome” for me - you meet someone on a dating app. I’m sure the fact you are in communications with a NFL team was brought up first date (if you didn’t publicize it in your profile to start - because well it sounds impressive).

Now - did she say I work as a journalist or just in media ? What did he know - again, I’m sure she mentioned a “shared” career interest at some point - and if not it’s a blatant set up.

But again - dude your on a 2nd date - probably never wise to get shit faced and start calling out your bosses, bringing up racial theory or religion or talking shit about sensitive topics in public at a bar. Best case - she’s not recording and fellow patrons ignore you - even if she’s not recording - what are chances someone overhears and takes offense ?

And if anyone can truly say he’s wrong that the NFL does much of what they do out of “goodness of their heart” and not out of a need to be inclusive in their messaging - I’m all ears for your argument.

As I’ve said - I am very much in support of people’s rights to be who they are. But if your telling me the NFL and a sudden change in this inclusive culture came about out of “seeing the light” - show me why - till then it’s just BS messaging and they really don’t care what their owners/olayers/employees think.

Fans ARE generally HS educated drunks - it’s what makes games fun. Who wants to sit at a tennis/golf match of quietly clapping attendees. Players are dumb - and the smart ones lose brain cells with every hit. Again - whoever wants to pick up the flag and argue some of the RBs/WRS in this league are exceptionally intelligent - prove it. I’m not taking kickers or everyone- just saying there are plenty of dumbasses with a college education running the ball every game. Good at football - not at school.

Sadly - yes - 2nd date.

Knowing this - I agree it was likely a set up - but that’s partially on him too.

Stupid if he put out there on a dating app he was a Commander’s media executive - stupider if he did this knowing she was in sports media. Always someone looking for a break and willing to take advantage to get it.
