Just curious, usually players are traded because they are good enough or because of their overall bad performance?

a lot of reasons for the player to be on the trade block
The Team itself is not performing well, they have a very good player that's in their last year of a contract and figure they might as well get something out of them now if they think they won't re-sign next season.

In some sports a player might have a no-trade agreement or that they can refuse to be traded to certain teams.

Bettor days is right. But I believe No-trade clauses are more popular in the NBA and MLB.
if I remember correctly, there are only about a dozen in the NFL, maybe less.
off the top of my head, Mahomes, Russell Wilson, and DeAndre Hopkins have no-trade clauses in the NFL.

No, he did not waive it. He has only given permission for a trade to Miami
