So apparently Bovada has an invite only VIP program. Geez, I’m Hall of Fame - Red Room and don’t even get an invite. Checking if anyone has been invited to VIP?

Jon and Shawn - there’s a couple of names I haven’t heard of in a decade and a half. Never burned me - but certainly left their mark on the industry. Still remember when WC debuted.

I never got burnt by them either. However, they don't just leave. Jon was all over SBR all those years under his handle and others. He has always been involved in forums and for anyone to think he is not amongst us is just silly. Of course he is here and still involved in the industry. However, which book and to what faction is he involved , who knows? But rest assured, he and others from that era are still here.

Agree 100% - you don’t just randomly decide “hey - I’m a sportsbook manager” on a random day of the week - fly to CR and start one up - nor do you walk away after you failed at it once.

Im sure he’s around somewhere under a new name - as are many of the people in the industry.

Its a lot like being a manager in MLB - same candidates for every opening and they take the fall when teams do poorly - get the credit when they win - but end of the day they are little more than figureheads.

Yea Jon was quite active posting - right up until the ship started taking on water - then mysteriously quiet.

I know in the early days a lot of guys down had some “connections” to a few families in the Pittsburgh/Youngstown/Steubenville area. As those families have died out - been a change in faces. You just never know exactly who you are dealing with many times online - personally prefer it that way - I’m simply a small end consumer - don’t need to know the who/what - less things I can be asked about later - ignorance is bliss.

Give any book enough of your money and they will find an award to give you.

It’s kinda like televangelist or PBS - keep sending cash - they will tell you when you’ve sent enough and keep you in their prayers and on their mailing list as long as you keep sending $$ - they will even remind you if for fail to send a month.
