But they will pay the same kids to play school sports for them…
Unfortunately, some don't make the big bucks.

These kids that don't make the big NIL money will still throw games. The latest issues we've read about aren't the last. It will always be a problem and limiting athletes from betting on pro sports won't make the problem go away but, I guess it may keep as many of them from coming under the thumb of the criminal element involved with sports-betting.

True

So Much going on these days with sports betting and college kids getting paid now (which I don’t agree with)

I’m curious - what’s the lowest paying NIL out there for a division 1 school major sport look like ?

Talking about this last year with one of the male nurses when I was in hospital last year. His cousin was a HS football star a few years back - he wound up staying for a 5th year and playing for Oklahoma I think - offensive line backup. Was going to leave to pursue engineering degree - but the NIL package was too good to pass up - something like 150k plus car/housing as well as full ride for the year. This is for a freaking BACKUP lineman - granted it may have been higher since he was off the books after the year, knew he wouldn’t be starting and was ok with coming there with that info and had been a solid performer at a MAC school - but still that’s more per year than any of these non pros will ever see in their chosen careers for a while.

I’m sure assistant manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car is quite the lucrative career move for NCAA athletes - but you ain’t making 6 figures vacuuming and delivering rentals 6 days a week.

Got to believe the Power 4 + PAC10 conferences are paying every play on their teams something in that range or at least high 5 figures.

The G5 Conferences probably drop a zero off those numbers.

Then everyone else is probably low 5 figures with some just getting scholarships. These are the ones at risk for being turned to point shaving IMO.
