NC High School student mother suing to allow son to collect NIL money while in high school

So it begins - we now have minors demanding NIL money (and getting it).

For reference - Grimsley Academy is basically the “elite” school in Greensboro. Very nice college style campus with top notch facilities. You ain’t playing there unless you are the child of a very upper middle class /wealthy family or an upper echelon D1 prospect (or both).

It’s funny - was talking to a nurse here about NIL yesterday - his cousin got recruited from D2 to play at a SEC power program - saw the field a few times on special teams last year and was a backup - but banked 200k NIL money. Took that money and went back to grad school this year. Crazy cash being handed out. ESPN reporting Ohio State is paying 20 MILLION this year to football.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised once it was implemented in NCAA.
We'll see some kids get NIL deals and driving $150k cars to HS.

If HS start offering NIL deals to draw certain star athletes, it will only be the private schools getting the players. No way will a public school be able to afford to pay NIL $.
