I like Kevin Durant to bounce back from a poor shooting night in Game 1 against the Celtics last Sunday. KD finished with 23 points, four rebounds and three assists but he had a rare off shooting night, going 9-for-24 (37.5 percent) from the field and 1-for-5 from 3-point range (20.0 percent).
The Celtics' approach to defending Kevin Durant in this series was made clear from the start: the on-ball defender made sure to crowd KD at every opportunity and the other four defenders had their eyes on him when he had the ball so it was difficult for the two-time NBA champion to truly get going.
This year Durant has had five more games where he shot 40 percent or less from the field and it's fair to say that he got back on track in a big way following each of them, just look at the numbers:
January 5 against the Pacers: 39 points, eight rebounds, seven assists (63.5 percent from the field)
March 18 against the Trail Blazers: 38, 6, 6 (73.3 percent from the field)
March 29 against the Pistons: 41, 11, 5 (60.9 percent from the field)
April 6 against the Knicks: 32, 10, 11 (50 percent from the field)
April 12 against the Cavaliers: 25, 5, 11 (56.3 percent from the field)
And yes these were not playoff teams but it's clear that Durant comes out fired up after a poor shooting game.
NBA Prop Pick: Kevin Durant Over 31.5 points
