they are going to be shit for a few years until MLB steps in.Wow......
They knew this before the trade deadline. That's why the unloaded 10 of the players on their MLB team and 5 that were starters.
They are now going to go as low-ball as possible on salaries. Reminds me of the Marlins Wayne Huizenga after they won the WS in the late 1990s. The only difference is Twins never won anything.
I may have mentioned this somewhere else but I heard a great idea on how to resolve the issues with these low-paying/don't give a crap teams.
If a team finishes in the bottom 3rd of the standings and has a salary in the bottom 3rd for 3 straight years, the team must be sold. This rule would never fly of course because being forced to seel would make values drop.
But, it would be a fitting situation to remove owners who don't give a crap about the team and the fans.
That would be amazing. Like the English Football League.this is where we need MLB A and MLB B or something where if you suck, you go into the lower league with less revenue and no chance to win a championship. don't they do this in soccer in Europe or used to?
it would take a whole restructuring and then teams would bitch about not being included in the main revenue but it def gives incentive to win.
Well...we did win the WS in 87 & 91.Wow......

Do you think they will move?Well...we did win the WS in 87 & 91.
The problem is Minnesota in general. The team had to absorb the family's debt after Pohlad passed. They were sued by the State for taxes. On top of that, the County taxes everything from beers to hotels to parking to pay for the stadiums, and the State has the 4th highest income tax.
It's just not competitive
If the Wolves leave in the next couple years, the Twins will follow.Do you think they will move?

A lot of things have appeared to change since the last time I was in Minnesota.
This amongst other things is probably one of the reasons Minny left the state... I mean really left it. Got as far away as he could and ended up in Costa Rica.
