MLB Team Batting Averages YTD - SDP, NYY, LAD all surprisingly low.

The chart shows how teams are batting so far this year.

Its shocking to see 3 teams that spend a lot of $ near the bottom and even more shocking to see Pittsburgh near the top. You have to believe this is going to change as the season progresses, right?

All 3 of these "power house" teams are still above 0.500 win % which seems to indicate their pitching is keeping them on the winning side of games. Just think how good they may be when the bats come around.

Overall we should see averages rise. It's been getting harder and harder to hit even singles, hence the rule changes with the shift.

I'm just thinking these 3 teams at the bottom have got to move up over time. They are just too loaded with hitters. Something to keep an eye on.

I think the Padres should def start to move up that list as we go along and will be keeping an eye on them for signs of getting hot, perhaps dodgers as well.

Yanks are kind of an oddity to me because Judge skewed their numbers so much last season and somewhat this season, after his bat the rest of that lineup is def a bit suspect. So I would expect somewhat of an upward swing just not sure how far up they can really move unless they make a splash.
