I don’t agree with banning the defensive shift. Always considered baseball a chess match. Don’t agree with pitcher coming in during an inning must face three batters either.
The defensive shift is already illegal in college and minor league.
Was not aware till l attended UCSB baseball game and umpires stepped out and gave defensive warning. Being at a small venue could hear what he was saying. And then l thought about minor league games I’ve attended never saw a shift. The one thing I am for is electronic balls and strikes these umpires suck.

I'm not a pitch clock supporter. I've seen it used in minor league games and its a joke. It'll time out but upires do nothing.

The one thing I do like since they have to have this rule, is that the batter can be called for a strike if he's not in the box a 8 seconds.

I think we all knew this was coming but it was passed.

just punish any pitcher who obviously takes too long. an obvious time waster. i wonder what do the players think about the changes. i would like to hear from the players.

Baseball is dead and these rules are absurd

1- you're forcing the pitcher to limit throw overs to 2, while (as I read it) reducing the baselines to 89'6", meaning catchers are losing time on the 'pop'

2- the shift or arrangement of fielders is on the hitter to adjust to

3- a pitch clock does nothing to limit slow play

I've said it before, the only changed needed is a 14 man game day roster. That's it to speed it up.

The more l think about only being able to throw to first twice a third time you must pick the runner off or it’s a balk.
Just think what Rickey Hendersons stolen base record would be if lol.
But yea Rickey got on base he was the human rain delay.

And it's not like today's catchers are defensive in priority of skill set...

Gary Sanchez won't throw out 15%

So the totals will have to lean to the overs with all the base stealing we’re going to see next year. Adding to the extra inning games that FUCCK up an under bet why would we bet the under. Line makers will have to have a meeting of the minds during off season on how to set the lines.

What a fvcking disaster. They have killed this sport. Only one I am fine with is the pitch clock because of all the superstitious shit hitters/pitchers do. As Biggins said, baseball is a chess match or at least was. If the hitters hit for a base hit instead of a homerun than there would be no shift. The 3 batter rule is fvcking stupid and ruins a well planned game because of one "off' pitcher. Bigger bases and only 2 throw overs?? Are you fvcking kidding me?? You might as well just start the runner on 2nd base. Who comes up with this shit?? 2 throw overs totally ruins the fvcking game.

All these dumb-ass rules and nothing about the inept Umps.

I'd add 50 bases points to most lefties OBP too

Exactly

Baseball WANTS to go back to 70s-93 style of play, without addressing the fact hitters are softball players.

Just make the parks bigger.

345/ 410/330 dimensions would accomplish the same effect the no shift rule would as it'd make HS a much lower % of a batters OBP

To reduce player injuries and collisions, the size of first, second and third base will be increased from 15 inches square to 18 inches square. The Competition Committee also expects the shorter distances between bases created by increased size to have a modest impact on the success rate of stolen base attempts and the frequency with which a batter-runner reaches base on groundballs and bunt attempts.

True, thou, in actuality, they don't need to shorten the distance if u think about it, so not sure what geometry the committe is using

Well when the pitcher can no longer throw over to 1st without the risk of an automatic advancement, the runner now has a bigger lead. What dumb fvcks.
