STILL RIDING THESE PLAYS TODAY. CARRY OVER FROM FRIDAY POSTPONEMENT
1-0 + 1.00 Thursday
30-20 +7.05 Season
Reds FF -105 vs Pirates 12:35 ET
Reds +109 vs Pirates for full game
There is probably going to be a number of plays by posters on the Reds this weekend. I have a feeling they come through with a win at some point at home vs the Pirates. If you want to be sure to hit the "right" game(s) for the win, you might wait for Mahle (CIN) to come up in the rotation (Sat game 2 or Sunday).
The Reds have the better starting pitcher today: Overton (CIN) vs Brubaker (PIT). Overton has 1 start (5.1 innings) this season. He was primarily a relief pitcher last year for Blue Jays and Reds (1-3 innings in each outing). This may/may not lead to the Reds heading to bullpen sooner than later. I'm not sure.
Batting for the season, these teams are about equal but, over the last 10 days, the Reds have been hitting very well, much better than their season average. The Pirates have are doing slightly worse than their season average.
Relief pitching is the kicker. Pirates are stout on relief pitching. The Reds, not so much. The Reds burned through a lot of their bullpen over the last couple of days vs Brewers. They probably only have Hoffman and Diaz to rely upon for any distance. Pirates bullpen is rested up (off Thursday and minor load on them in Wednesday's game).
I'm taking Reds FF -105 due to the relief pitcher situation.
I'm also putting a small bet on the Reds +109 for the full game.
Good luck today.
