A little on the expensive side but should be a win. Megill vs Sanchez. Not much of a matchup on starting pitchers. Megill 2.43 ERA, Sanchez 8.56 ERA. Megill is pitching well this season and had a great outing against the Nats to open the year. 5 Innings, 3H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6K.
The Nats bats have been better in last 10 games so that is a slight concern but I think Megill cools them off.
Relief pitching favors the Mets. They did use their two best relievers last night (Smith/Diaz) but only 10-15 pitches each. Nats did not use their best from the bullpen last night so they are in good shape too but, the Mets relievers that are available are much better than the Nats relievers.
Megill doesn't typically give up many runs in his first 5 innings. His earned runs climb as he wears down (6+ inning). Sanchez has given up 3-4 ER in his first 4-5 innings in each start. This makes me think a FF play is an option but Mets bats don't really seem to wake up until later in the game so I'm avoiding that play.
