Ok. I think most of the board is on the Reds today. Mahle is pitching and he is their best pitcher and offers the best hope for a win for this 3-15 team. Padres going with Martinez who has done OK over his 3 starts against good teams: Dodgers, Braves, Giants. (4.30 ERA, averaging 4-5 innings in each game, 4 K, 2 BB, 2+ ER).

Padres bats are much better than the Reds but in the last two games against the Padres the Reds have shown some life scoring 5 & 6 runs.

Relief pitching is a toss up between these teams.

I don't trust Reds bullpen so I'm taking the FF ML and betting basically on Mahle to hold the Padres in check and have the Reds grab a run or two early. The Reds have been able to score early in their last 3 games so hopefully, the trend will continue.

Pirates FF ML +135 vs Brewers 11:35 ET
Maybe I'm missing something on this game but I like the Pirates to win this game outright. But their bullpen is suspect so I'm going with FF ML and getting great odds. Quintana (PIT 3.86 ERA) has done well in his 3 starts while Peralta (MIL 7.50 ERA) has been average at best.

Pirates have better bats. WRC+ 97 vs 77, OPS 0.663 vs 0.607, AVG 0.235 vs 0.205

Brewers have the edge in relief pitching so I'm going FF ML.

Short notice on this so short writeup.

Rogers (MIA) ERA 6.94 is high due to one bad start out of 3. He has since recovered in his last outing and pitched well. Corbin (WAS) 11.20 ERA has had onely one good outing out of 4 starts. The one good game was against the pirates.

Miami has better bats and relief pitching.


Nats have lost 7 in a row. No momentum on that team. It'll be 8 in row today.
