I think Chicago didn't work to develop him into a good QB when he first entered the NFL. In 2017 Coach Fox threw the rookie to the wolves and started him to try and save his coaching job --> Fox was fired.

In 2018 under head coach Nagy, Mitch did well (Pro bowl) but the playoff loss that year sucked. Nagy has experience as QB coach so that likely helped Mitch a lot.

I was actually glad he went to Buffalo last year behind Josh Allen. It gave him time to learn the job in a system that knows how to develop a QB (e.g. Josh Allen). Now he's off to Pitt. I hope he does well. I think there will be high expectations from the fans due to their team's history. It might be tough to play well there.
