Probably the most polarizing NFL player in forumville (other than maybe @stormtrooper8 ’s Josh Allen) is obviously Kirk Cousins

@MinnesotaFats just keeps finding a way to make money

Why the hell did Atlanta keep Cousins past this deadline, unlocking another guaranteed $10 million, when almost everyone knows he will be playing elsewhere next season

Or will he? Who knows? Thought Atlanta was definitely Penix’s team now

They have Pennix on a cheap contract and they are taking the cap hit anyway around it - and likely paying a significant chunk of that money if they do manage to trade him. Guess they are just playing a game of chicken with all the QB needy teams who don’t get their guy in the draft or who decide it’s better to give up a 3rd or 4th rounder for Cousins than wasting a 1st rounder on Sanders.

But yea - I don’t get it. He’s decent - possibly above average - but if Pennix struggles even a little - they have a potential headache on their hands. You’ll have a supposedly now healthy Cousins saying he can do better - and in that division it’s anyone’s to win every year.

Let him go - quit playing games hoping to look smarter than what you are. You overpaid and got burned - enjoy your cheap starting QB who you invested a high pick in and move on. He’s going to sign somewhere else cheap - no one is taking on even half that contract and giving a pick of any consequence. Either your paying most of the money to get a middle of the draft pick or your getting nothing but a 7th rounder back at best.

That must be it Jeffery. Hoping to get a 3-5 draft pick maybe last minute this year or most likely post 2025 draft picks for next season

Not sure if that’s worth $10 mil especially since a trade partner for cousins definitely not guaranteed
