I watched it live and my reaction was the same as the Maryland fans. I was happy because I didn't want to see that game go to OT and lose my Michigan State play. I didn't care if they lost because I had 4.5 points in my back pocket but we all know OT is where Underdogs go to die.

I always think it's better to get to the rim in a situation like that if you're tied or down in the game. You might get a call and even if you don't there is a better chance you make the shot or your teammate gets the offensive board for a putback. I think settling for a jump shot bails the defense out most of the time and in this case it gave State a chance for a desparation heave that ended up beating Maryland.
