Nice match up here. looking to pound PITT +10 and a ML sprinkle if I can get confirmation that ACC stud John Hugley will be back.

this is not the hapless ACC Pitt. cupcakes of recent years. Capel somehow got another year here, and he went desperate and dirty and got some good recruits ( one of the 5 stars is out facing assault charges on a girl).

He also got some very experienced transfers so the team is full of experienced guys from his system and good 5th year seniors from other D1 schools.

Hugley is a very physical 6'9 265 presence with experience down low that will take it to hunter dickinson and get him in foul trouble. On the other end of the court 6'11 Federiko Federiko will be bodying dickinson up, allowing Hugley to remain out of foul trouble.

Hugley is the key here though. so we'll be monitoring beat reporters. to get confirmation he is for sure good to go, but after practicing monday all indications are that he will be playing.

John Hugley IV: Capel indicated Monday afternoon that the Panthers’ All-ACC center will likely make his 2022-23 season debut Wednesday evening against Michigan. Hugley has missed over a month of time on the court due to a knee injury he sustained on Sept. 30.

While it’s likely he will be on a minutes limit, Hugley’s availability alone provides a huge addition to the Panthers’ frontcourt as it looks to contain Michigan All-American center Hunter Dickinson.

“In order to play against a guy like [Dickinson], you need bodies because he’s a gigantic body,” Capel said. “He’s very good — he’s skilled, physical and he’s proven it, so he’s established. He’s their best player, so everything goes through him. For us, without John, our whole frontcourt is inexperienced at the college level. They have two games, but they haven’t faced anything like this. So it gives us a guy that has some experience to go up against, but it’s certainly still an unbelievable challenge for us.”

I don't believe in your take even without knowing the guy that anyone is going to take it to Hunter Dickinson since he's usually always good to put up good numbers and has experience going up against good big guys over the years in the Big Ten.

I will say that Michigan is not that good this year. It will be the worst team Coach Howard has had talent wise. They don't shoot the 3 well enough, their point guard constantly got beat off the dribble against EMU, and they have limited amount of players who can get your double figures on a regular basis.
