Think anytime you are an all-time great you command respect from future generations of players. Of the ex-players and/or college coaches to try the NFL none of them were really hall of fame caliber players. Understanding one side of the ball from an elite players perspective and having won rings brings a lot to the table. Then on the other side he has seen things through the eyes of a qb while raising his son through the rankings. Could definitely see him being a solid NFL coach. If freakin Dan Campbell can do it and the guy seems lost half the time, I think Deion can too, he just needs a boatload of high drafts picks like the Lions had, makes anyone look good. Same will be the case for the first competent person the Bears land, all that talent stockpiled for years, game gets easy then.
Yeah but the thing is Jerry’s not smart enough to ever manipulate the draft in his favor.
Last time the Cowboys did that was the Herschel trade Jimmy Johnson orchestrated more than 30 years ago.
And of course Jerry and his ego weren’t smart enough to keep Jimmy around 20-25 years and let him do his thing while he sat in background.
