All (most) of the players opted-out and went into the transfer portal due to the school not re-signing the head coach (Charles Huff) even after he won the Sunbelt title.

I'm pretty sure the players were sending a message that they were pissed their coach wasn't coming back.

Because some corporate type at a mid level company wants to give a few hundred thousand dollars to his Alma mater to come play in Birmingham, Ala on a Thursday night and educate degenerate gamblers watching on ESPN 7 by running ads telling us whatever the hell it is their company sells.

We need playoff bowls and maybe 5 others - just to let the small schools have a chance to play a mid level big 5 school and beat their asses.
