Got an email today from Betdaq offering me one month's commission-free trading if I would 'come back'.Surprised by this as I hadn't actually 'been away',but I 'phoned them to ask for the free month.The girl there took my details and said she'd get back to me,but later they emailed me to say I didn't actually qualify for the free month,because I'd used my account within the last six months.
Well,it turns out that that had been in the small print terms and conditions at the bottom of the page - but I hadn't asked them to email me.Having done so,they could have stood by their offer.Perhaps I should try not using my Betdaq account for six months,and then ask again.

I guess it takes too much of an effort to email just the players that are entitled to the offer.

They want to activate dormant accounts, but a blanket campaign is very unprofessional. I wonder if players that use betdaq every day get the same "offer"?

I am keeping an eye on Betdaq as I think it could potentially be a good product in combination with Ladbrokes.

After I pointed out that no one made them email me with the offer,they said they'd sent it to a cross-section of their customers.So effectively they are saying 'we know we made you this offer,but it was only really intended for dormant accounts.You can't have it because you're an active customer'.
A fine way to treat their regular customers ! It wouldn't exactly break Betdaq/Ladbrokes to let them have a month's commission-free trading - it might encourage them to play more often.Still,that's one way to annoy people - pretty poor PR IMHO.

Funny how they work. You would have used them more for the long term if they had encouraged you for the one month. There loss. They hardly make millions on the commission anyway and you would have added valuable liquidity. Short term view as most of these operators, who look at users as simple plus and minus figures.

To be fair,I did get a competitive - as in just about best in market after commission - Asian handicap quote from them today.Good enough to suggest that if you do get a 1-month commission free offer from them,it might be worth taking.That is because I am guessing that they are probably more of a bookie than an exchange on most markets right now,and their odds take their commission into account.
