Gummer, that's a nice compliment coming from a Kentucky fan.

I had no problem with the guy but I can tell you all of my Kentucky fan friends absolutely loathed the man. He made it easy to hate him but I respected the guy because he was old school and made the Indiana/Kentucky rivalry my favorite of all the rivalry games Kentucky played.

You're 100% right. Coaches have to be soft these day to avoid hurting their player's feelings. Its BS.

I remember that ESPN announcer Craig James bitching about how bad his son was treated at Texas Tech and it lead to Mike Leach (RIP) being fired. Texas Tech hasn't been the same since.

Actually we literally saw what happened at UW two years ago. Reports of Jimmy Lake pushing a kid into his locker, he was later fired. Bob Knight can choke a kid out on the court 30 years ago and coach the next game.

1) Knight had a foul mouth. Isiah said that Knight cursed all the time.
2) Isiah's level of play did the talking. Took the Hoosiers to a title.

You did what your job was, tried your hardest, he would recognize you. It wasn’t all talent with him

He wasn't joking when he talked about TEAM. So many ordinary players seemed to become key contributors on the Indiana teams. That has to be a function of coaching.

I think team-play manifested it best on the motion offense. Basketball can look like the simplest game in the world. Move the ball, find open space and shoot a shot you're comfortable taking. Saw that all the time in Indiana games.
