I know that there are legal sportsbooks in my state. I never bothered opening any accounts because I wasn't going to deposit or bet soon so want to do this when I'm ready to deposit and then bet. I want to sign up for each sportsbook signup bonus. I am aware the signup bonuses are not as good as it was few years ago when the signup bonuses were really good.

1. Do you all sign up with the sportsbook on the laptop or download the app on your smartphone and sign up there? I was never a fan of using my iphone to bet or anything because the screen is too small for me and I always prefer a laptop. I believe some sites require you to download the app on the phone and you can't sign up on a laptop? If so, which sites are these? I am planning to sign up on sites like draftkings, fanduel, betmgm etc.

2. When you sign up for an account, are you doing this on your wifi at home or it's better to use your cell phone data plan for that? The thing is if I'm placing bets on it in the future, I would be using my wifi at home or my phone if I'm outside the home but in the state. Obviously no issue if you are logging in and placing bets with your laptop on wifi or your iphone or wifi or data? Like if you are logging in from many different ISP's wouldn't your account have issues maybe?

3. I want to sign up with all the sites right now as I'm in the US at the moment. The thing is I won't be here that long and will most likely not be depositing soon and of course not betting soon. If I sign up for an account at each legal sportsbook online now, do you need to enter a signup promo code or you not do that until you deposit? If I sign up for an account now, do I need to make a deposit within x amount of days or I lose the chance to get a signup bonus? Will there be an issue if I create an account now and just browse lines and all of that but not deposit... but only months later make my 1st deposit... I still will get the signup bonus right? I know that when you deposit, you have a short amount of time to clear the rollover. I want to make sure if I create accounts now but don't deposit for a few months, I still get the deposit bonus when I make the deposit later on?

4. After I create an account on these sites, when do I submit my identification documents? I heard some books only do that when you withdraw but others don't? Now would it be a good idea where after you create an account... and not deposit yet... you just send in verification documents before you deposit even so that you are fully verified sowhen you withdraw in the future, you won't have issues like now send verification documents now? Or it's not a good idea just sending it in early to have your account already verified so you won't have issues withdrawing later on? I heard some people never get asked for verification documents? Now if you don't have a utility bill in your name, your ID and your US online bank account statement is more than enough right?

5. Are there people that travel to different states to take advantage of these signup bonuses? I heard years ago yes but now is it worth it or not since bonuses are not as good? You have to factor if you drive to that state and just make bets while in your car or like if you stay at a hotel for a day or few days? So if you have a draftkings account in say Pennsylvania, then you want to use draftkings while in vermont, you have to create a brand new account while in vermont? So couldn't you have like over 10 plus draftkings accounts if you open them in multiple states? Now do any of these sites allow you to get a signup bonus in each state? I can't imagine they do? It would be just so you could bet and nothing else?

1. Doesn’t matter - laptop is fine
2. See above
3. Generally deposit promo at sign up only or shortly after - if no deposit/don’t sign up yet.
4. Each site different- generally will ask for drivers license or ID and ask you 2-3 questions to verify identity - if you fail get sent to verification team - but they may flatly deny an account.
5. Sign up is good only to resident of a state with a valid driver license in that state who have never registered before. For example - I live in Ohio, travel to WV regularly as well as NC - if I tried to sign up for accounts in WV and NC I’d be denied.

Bottom line - don’t be fooled - legal apps much more strict than offshore on compliance. You won’t be able to fool them with a fuzzy fake license and utility bill. They can access state identification databases directly and do.

1. Okay. So for the 3rd question, that is very important then? If you aren't going to deposit very soon after signing up for an account, don't sign up for an account yet? The thing is I don't want an issue where I sign up for an account just to browse the lines only...then say months later I want to make a deposit and then finally start betting but then I don't get the signup bonus because the signup date is far from when I finally make my first deposit. Can others confirm this? I do know when you get a signup bonus, you have to clear the bonus within a short amount of time. But at signup, do they ask you to enter a promo code?

2. So you should never offer your ID and bank statement or utility bill then after creating an account right? The thing is I want my account fully verified before I deposit because I don't want issues to arise when I go withdraw. But would that draw more attention? I have that with non us sites before but not with sportsbetting sites. Like I don't want an issue where they ask for a document and you can't give it to them... like imagine they want a few utility bills in your name when you have 1 only or you don't even have a utility bill in your name because where you are staying at, it's someone else's name. But do these sites generally ask you for these documents right after you sign up or not? Some don't and just let you deposit and play. But once you make a withdraw, every site will request your ID and bank statement or utility bill? Or there are some that don't?

3. So I read about that part and it seems you can only sign up for draftkings etc in your state only. So say you are from Pennsylvania. If you never opened an account before but currently in Vermont for a while. You should never create an account while in Vermont right since when they ask verification documents, your ID will be Pennsylvania? So no books allow you to have multiple accounts in different states? However, I read years ago, you could have done that and the reason many did that was for the signup bonuses in each state which cost these books a lot of money? Like people would literally drive to other states and get the same draftkings signup bonus in each state and do that? But then they stopped allowing it. Is that true? But in your example, you live in Ohio and travel to WV and NC. If you never opened an account in Ohio, could you have done that in WV or NC? If you could, then when you go back to Ohio, they would then change your WV or NC draftkings account to Ohio?

Correct - for example before Ohio adopted sports betting - I could drive to WV and place a wager IN PERSON - but could not register for an app as I was an Ohio resident. Similar to years ago (and currently for a few surrounding states to NV - anyone can walk into a Vegas hotel and gamble - but you can’t sign up and bet on an app.

Weirdest state to me was always NC - their logic is almost counter intuitive - you can easily buy lotto tickets via app for example - but walk into a damn store and you can’t without a NC drivers license !?! Like they’re afraid some illegal is gonna steal their powerball jackpot or something.

I personally would never volunteer utility bills ect to a book - too much identity theft and most won’t ask for them. Offshore of course very different - it’s almost required. But legal books - they have the access to things like Lexis (your credit file to verify identity and address used for govt purposes). Big brother knows who and where you are and can easily spot suspicious activity - which is a key requirement of any legal gambling operation.

You hear the stories of these college kids getting popped betting against their own teams - how do you think they are caught. They flag names/known associations and relatives - dumbass uses their cousins name and tries to lay a grand on a player prop and gets caught because their are multiple layers of security in place.

Okay. So if I'm from Pennsylvania and I haven't opened any accounts yet... if I take a trip to say New Jersey, I can't open an account at draftkings since I don't have a NJ id then right? But what about books that operate in New Jersey but not in Pennsylvania? I can't open an account online? But I could bet at that casino if there at the brick and mortar setting?

So if I create an account online at draftkings, fanduel etc in Pennsylvania, make sure I deposit soon otherwise I don't get the signup bonus?
