I still don’t get what these people are thinking it’s not like they’re poor

You of anyone should know - it’s not about money, it’s about that rush they feel.

Sneaking around making bets and winning. Just like Jordan - man has more money than any athlete and an image that generates $$ every second - but he continues to gamble - why ?? It’s not like he needs cash and no “good” publicity could ever come out of his gambling habits. Literally no upside and a ton of down - but he does it and likely has to put in quite the effort to keep it quiet.

These guys are just sharing info with friends/associates who are cashing in on them. Too many idiots thinking everyone around them is a friend for life.

Correct. And part of the rush is ego. It's a matter of being right about the outcome of a bet that gives you a boost of your ego.

These men, of course have some of the biggest egos on the planet.

Can’t blame them in a way for the ego.

They’ve been the best player on every team they played on since 6th grade usually until they made the pros and have been treated differently all along the way growing up with special treatment/praise.

It’s amazing any of them manage to stay the least bit grounded actually.

"I think, probably, there should be more regulation, frankly," Silver said. "I wish there was federal legislation rather than state by state. I think you've got to monitor the amount of promotion, the amount of advertising around it."

LOL silvers such a fuckkin fraud. dudes making hand over fist from gambling. no one would give a fukk about the nba

Yes - if we know anything - it’s that government regulation helps make things better overall.

Name an industry that’s not been made better and less susceptible to kickbacks, fraud and outright cheating once the US government intervened in it.

You’d be better off just letting the mafia take control than government - mob only wants a 20% cut of the action.
