Brian Jones grew up in my family's hometown.
Amazing!

People don't know shit about Brian.

Beatles fans think Lennon was a genius, he couldn't suck Brian's left nut.

Brian played over 60 instruments all self taught and all at master level.

A modern musical genius we've never seen before.

Listen to Paint It Black. That's not a guitar it's Brian playing the Sitar one of the hardest musical instruments to learn and he mastered it in under 6 months.

An astounding genius of the highest order.

Philly I know you know. People who don't get the Stones need to put on headphones and just listen to each and every instrument being played. Amazing sounds they gave us.
They were at a level never seen before or since.

The Beatles want to hold your hand?

Well the Stones want to burn your town down.

People don't know what the Stones had to go through.

The Stones losing Brian would be the equivalent of the Beatles losing Lennon at their height.

Then the British government came down on them, recklessly I would add.

They banned Street Fighting Man in England for fear of it causing riots and mayhem.

We heard that song in the States for well over a year before they heard it in England.

Also, try to imagine the overall impact.

Think of this...

The Summer of Love started in 1967 in San Francisco.

When beatniks, hippies, counter culture revolutionaries, and free love abounded.

Following that summer the Stones recorded Jumpin Jack Flash.

Try to imagine that.

Everyone on hallucenogenic drugs, high on free sex, and the Stones release Jumpin Jack Flash the next summer?

It's no wonder the world lost it's mind when it came out.

Then, in 1969, when the Beatles released Let It Be, the Stones release Gimme Shelter and ended the period of the Summer of Love at Altamont.

The IMPACT!

The Beatles faded into history and the Stones marched on. Without Brian.

To your point, along the way, they played every musical style and then some.

Nothing comes close to the sheer vastness of the catalouge of music the Stones created.

Nothing.

The world has never seen anything like it nor will again.

Listen to this.

Fukkin 1973. Listen to the groove they lay down here, then listen to the break and the bridge and the finish.

This is a work of art and these are masters at work here.
