Is Steph Curry the evolution of Pete Maravich ??

I’m watching the SEC Storied “Maravich” for the first time in awhile

Seen it 3-4 times before

Always wonder what he could have become with some talent around him in the NBA. On horrible teams his while career while in his prime

His feel for the game and touch at his size reminds me of Curry a bit.

Obviously Curry is a unique player the likes of which has never been seen. Just saying Pistol’s game reminds me of Curry a tad

In a way yes.

At the same time - Pistol did it without a 3 point line. He was just that good and knew the only open shot he was going to get was way the hell away from the hoop as teams were content to let him take the “low percentage” shot.

He was the purest shooter of his time. Steph is damn good - but he’s always had a decent team around him - at least in the NBA and the level of competition in college he faced wasn’t the highest - especially in league. They were overmatched often when playing the big boys.

Petes not a 10th of Curry in what way - a 10th as tan ? Yea - I’d probably agree there.

Pete was every bit the competitor and the player as Curry - different era but Pete the purest shooter ever.

Curry’s good - but short of Jordan - I don’t think there has been a guy who had the combination of talent and drive that Pete had.

Imagine an aging Jerry West mentoring a young Pete daily - how great could have became.

Had season tickets in Washington in the late 70’s . We had some real good teams then. Pete was a must see game for me.

The fact you suggest Curry > than MJ is even possible destroys any credibility you may have ever hoped to have talking sports.

Perhaps we can talk lawn care some time and you can impress us with your knowledge - but you sure as hell don’t know basketball.

Curry a very good player - probably top 25 - MJ too 5 and there’s a big difference between those 2 groups.

As much as I love watching Curry there’s no comparison between him and MJ
