I think so. Penn State has no chance to beat the big guys with him as coach. Always loses to Ohio State and Michigan. It's so predictable with this guy.

Can't win a big game. Awful.

Name any other team that consistently beats Ohio State and Michigan every year.
Yes, but they don't have the same expectations as Penn State. Penn State is supposed to be a powerhouse on those teams level. He never beats them.

When Penn State plays in a big game, you can count on them losing. One of the few mortal locks from God in all of sports.

He sure gets a lot of heat. Does he have elite players though?
Yes. He gets top tier recruits but that only fuels expectations. Expectations that he never fulfills. Which leads to people saying he sucks as a coach.

I'll put it this way....he is easily the worst big game coach I ever saw.

He gets way too much credit - he turned around a falling program - great - now make it elite.

I mean let’s be honest - place could be Nebraska if he wasn’t there - once proud and now relegated to top 75 status from top 10-15 every year. But they are far from top 5.

They should be able to compete with anyone in the Big 10 - now they are best 5th best in conference.

I’m a homer - but Ohio State isn’t “great” - fortunately neither is anyone else this year in CFB. Texas for example should be top 5 recruiting school every year - yet they find ways to lose.

I do see Ohio State playing Oregon for the Big 10 this year - but as to championship - it’s a mix of 5-6 teams who could easily be there.

He never turned around a falling program. Bill O'Brien was the coach before him and he turned it around but he left for the NFL and that's when Franklin came in.

I agree with that part. He is easily the worst big game coach, but no one has ever consistently beat OSU and Michigan in the past 50+ years year in and year out. Two things can be true.
