Long watch, but a few interesting parts (Saw this at another sharp forum)
Mass gaming commission talking about sportsbooks limiting players. Without searching for it, there is one committee member (lady) that starts talking about limiting players and not being concerned about the handful of sharps that make a living at this. Clearly doesn't care if they are limited. She is much more concerned about the regular Joe being limited because maybe they are running hot or got the best of it for a period of time. I get that to an extent but basically she is saying "we really care about tax revenue. Don't limit the average player. Give them a shot to lose everything back. Sharps, F them!"
Shitty, but reality. Realistically the DK's of the world are paying a higher "sin" tax than the consumer is. Not sure what the state income tax is in Mass but I would guess it is quite a bit lower than DK's tax for operating there.
Moral of the story...don't ever think the state commissions are on your side. They will settle a dispute if someone is treated unfairly, but clearly they are pretty concerned about revenue more than anything. Interesting.
