No of course not

you can’t wait to post it back up
This is what I notice with a lot of folks as well.

People hardly ever treat themselves (mini-vacation, buying something nice for them or their girl)

It’s constantly a grind to have to have action every single day.

Have to do something fun or that you enjoy from time to time

I’m someone who hates debt so when I win I pay down or pay off debt.

Most of my biggest scores went to paying down debt.

It’s one of the reasons I’m sitting here today with a house that’s paid off and a car that’s paid off. Makes day-to-day living a lot easier.

Now I might make a chunk payment on a bill I have upcoming (my internet only costs $30/month but I might throw a few hundred on it so I’m good for a year, etc), same with Homeowner’s Insurance (I’m paid in full til January 2026), and utility bill, auto and home insurance. Next bill I’ll actually have due will be a Homeowner’s Insurance bill next summer.

I only have one credit card, a cash back discover, and I pay it off every month.

So other than the nice meal I might treat myself or me and my girl to, I use winnings to give myself a little financial freedom and peace of mind.

I’ll also buy things for my 5-year old godson, little prizes (mostly hot wheels) for when I pick him up for school.

Or take him to his favorite nachos place.

Little things like that make me feel good

When I cash out - I generally keep funds in crypto or a high yield savings via PayPal/cash app or one of the apps - makes it easy to move money back and forth as needed.

Never keep more than I need in a day in a book / even the “trusted” ones - way too easy to fund these days and never know when a great bonus may present itself.

Gambling funds never co-mingle with the day to day or investment funds - gambling comes from my “recreational” money - other stuff is solidly seperated.

As to buying things for myself - sure. Got a few things on my “want” list I’ll probably pull the trigger on soon - just don’t want to drain too much from the fund at once until I’ve been able to fully fund myself for basketball season. Always wanted a ‘68 Nolan Ryan rookie baseball card - never owned one - not a big $$ card compared to some I own/have owned - but going to get a decent grade one. Also thinking about buying myself a 50 cal DEagle - personally never found them useful or practical - but what about a 4.5# 50 cal hand cannon built by some Hebrew that can take down a grizzly DOESN’T scream I’m a god damn ‘merican. That and a Browning Sweet16 guy is holding for me - wanted one ever since my POS sister took the one that was my great grandfathers and passed down the line to my dad and was left to me. Not a big firearms person - just a few for personal enjoyment - but looked forward to having that one and found the exact same one recently.

Oh - and always share a bit of the wealth with a few local organizations - mainly animal shelter - but have expanded to a few others. Nothing like just ordering a bunch of crap from Amazon and having delivered to the humane society and getting a thank you message with pictures of the smiling pups. Hate going in places like that as I know I’ll be coming home with a dog if I do - so Amazon subscribe works wonderfully - they deliver directly - shelter gets the stuff they need regularly (bleach/paper towels/wet food and treats) and I not only get a subscription discount - but airlines miles on my card that I pay from my fund - so free travel.
