If you were to buy someone a scratch off lottery ticket as a gift, and they won a large prize, would you expect them to give you any of it?

And if so, at what amount would you expect them to cough some up?

$1,000 $10,000 etc?

I wouldn't necessarily expect it. It would be a nice gesture and personally I believe the right thing to do. The amount given to the person who bought the ticket I believe depends on the amount that was won

In Ontario, they would need to have a group play form signed as only the PURCHASER can cash the ticket. OLG verifies all big prizes via the video at the store and method of payment if electronic must match the purchaser. To many Asians store owners banging tickets in Toronto telling customers " you no win" but some were. OLG found it peculiar that store owners were claiming so many big tickets.

This exact scenario is why I would never buy a friend or family a scratch off ticket. Could lead to a very bad breakup lol.
