Tiger was not in his prime when he didn’t win majors and he had injuries. Rory was in his prime for 10 years and didn’t win one
Many golfers in the pre-Tiger era peaked in their 30s major-wise so I think it would have obviously been a shock to anyone in 2008 if they knew the 33-year old Tiger wouldn’t win another until 2019.
That said, I agree no one would have believed a 25-year old Rory would go Major winless after the 2014 PGA given his trajectory to that point.
He’s left several on the table. The one that sticks out the most to me was the Open that Cam Smith won in 2022 at St. Andrews. Cost me a couple of grand in potential profit.
I’ll bet I’ve lost at least $1,500 total wagered on Rory in majors the last 10 years.
