I was talking to Charlie Brown last night. He told me he’s tired of losing.

I basically gave him a lot of wise words and tremendous encouragement during this time
Yes the rush is disappearing. Might hold off till mondayIf only CB could reign in all that experience and save his bullets for a better game than the one in front of him.
But I get it.
Unlike the alcoholic that shouldn't sip drink, I believe experts have told CB that it's ok to gamble if he can stay in control of the money and make only small bets.
That said, just how tired is he of losing? Tired enough to pass on the next big game?
Can a bettor seeking the rush get tired enough of losing that it makes the rush pointless to him? Maybe, but something tells me that effect wears off quickly.
Good Luck here @charliebrown , you know you have friends out here, and you know you have one in me.

Thank you dj. Giving up gambling is not anI think KVB has a good handle on the issue.
Need to learn you don’t need action anytime you have the $$ in your account and losing a quarter of a unit 4 times is no different than losing a single unit once - volume is only your friend when your someone who can hit 55% of the time. Even if you’re a 50/50 gambler - the vig will catch up to you quickly.
And learn to stretch your gambling dollar - lots of promo’s out there on the apps. Legal books love what they deem to be “losing” players. Plenty of offshore places dangling bonus money for the scalping - just play conservatively - don’t get greedy and try to clear it all in a day and then “gamble” with your profits after a few weeks (or better yet mix it up a bit - keeping the scalp play going AND selectively betting a few games.
You win - keep going and keep setting some aside in your bank. You lose - start back again with the stake you set aside - scalp it and repeat. And hammer those cash back promos from places like DraftKings - $100 WNBA cash back at least once a week - adds up.

I've just been getting screwed so bad in poker. Got guys right where I want them then the suck out and I go bustCincikid's not wrong here, but I think the behavior change CB seeks is along the lines of small bets and a little more care to try to win, or at least not take shitty odds.
It becomes a choice for CB.
then the suck out
Ya I get itIt's this. The need to stay in the game.
Once you start passing, and not chasing those suck outs (for both sports and poker and everything else) and then you recognize that your choice of passing was you taking more control, being more patient, you can take the first steps to making that a productive habit.
It might not change the math, but then again, it actually might because you won't be around for the less desirable math that plays out on all of us.
Can you pick up what I'm putting down?
