Those were terrible propositions, they created an extremely unfair market place. I’ve tried to consult with Sacramento to put up something better and protect the people, us, the bettors, or any of us that might one day want to start a book or exchange.
Those big houses really wanted into California and paid hundreds of millions to try to sneak in and exclude everyone else.
Fukk that.
The big problem is that they can try every two years and all they will likely do is put up the same exact proposition.
Could fail again, might not.
We need a change. The option is the Tribe, and if I had choice I would have taken that but it was still shit. It meant that you could bet sports, but it had to be in person on Tribal land.
I figured we could take the Tribes trying to make book for a while before they realize they're getting killed. But that was all it had going for it, and nothing else.
Will be interesting to see what hits the ballot next in California. I'm trying to get involved in consulting in Sacramento, because none of them really know the business, it seems. And DK, FD and those fukks aren't bookmakers, they're advertising companies, basically.
So nobody knows what the fukk they're doing, especailly the ones with the most control...the Tribes.
It's a shitshow here in California. Seems like the only way to fix it is to run for office and I'm don't think I'm going to do that, but I have not ruled it out.
