It kind of snuck up on me. I always peg the end of August for football because that's when the regular season starts, but it's just kind of nice to see a football game played again since it's been over 5 months since the last one.

August 23rd is the first college game in Dublin. In my first post I said the first preseason NFL game was in Dublin but as we all know it's in Canton, OH for the Hall of Fame.

One angle that consistently wins in preseason is week 3 games between teams that are 0-2 vs teams that are 2-0. Bet on the 0-2 team, dog or fav. Simple angle with a solid record. Logical reasoning is that the 0-2 team is hungry to get their first win under their belt

Pay attention to line moves in NFL preseason. Oddsmakers get lines wrong more often, with many point spreads set at or very near the number 3 as the oddsmakers are not sure of playing time and team performance.

• There are many new players on rosters from rookies, free agents and trades.
• Some players will hold out while others will miss some time with injuries.
• There are less reps for the starters and stars, as staying healthy is of great importance heading into the regular season

Yeah I’ve seen 5-6 pt line moves in preseason. Another thing to look at is coaches records. There is a huge disparity in how coaches play preseason. Some couldn’t care less and others play to actually win. Rookie head coaches tend to play more to win as well.
