How bad of a decision is it looking like Bears picking Caleb over Daniels

Comparing the Bears and Commanders/WFC/Redskins record on QBS is like like comparing either to the Browns track record in drafting guys. Just when you think a clear winner has emerged - something happens either injury wise or the guy just plain bombs.

4 games does not a career make - my money is on BOTH guys holding a clipboard somewhere in 2027 - with one of them likely doing so at a local Amazon distribution center as the supervisor of delivery management.

This league moves quickly and unless you can build on your success - you quickly find yourself backing up the latest prospect. Coaches change and when they do - so do QBs.

Remember plenty of people were raving about Mac Jones saying he was far better than Trevor Lawrence a few years ago. Now look at them - they BOTH suck. Never liked Williams to start with - but be careful calling a winner in the race before they even hit the quarter pole.

If you read between the lines , both have had a big game or 2 as well as close losses over solid teams. Caleb a 6 and 5pt loss on the road to Houston and Indy. Meanwhile , Daniels won at Cincy ( not exactly a good D this season ) and a beat down over lowly Arizona. The game in Washington against NY Giants was only impressive that they came back to eke out a win. As they say " You are never as good as your best game or as bad as your worst ". I will call it a draw so far.

@BigJay Hvae you gotten the impression most think it's too early to call it?
That's how I read the board.

I liked Daniels before the draft so I'm biased and agree Caleb shouldn't have gone 1st.

It's all Cliff Kingsbury to me. Did well with Murray, and will now take his time developing Daniels. Prepare for more of the same in the Commies games. TT over 24 against the messed-up Browns looks good in Week 5.
I agree with this tank28. Cliff seems to have the Commanders offense clicking. They have 121 pts, 2nd only to the Bills at 122.

Lets see if it continues.

From what I've seen Chicago's O-line is really bad. The Patriots have a similarly bad line and they have Maye on the bench. As of now that's looking like the smarter course of action.

This.

For some reason people just gloss over offensive lines when evaluating qbs. Any qb is getting killed behind the lines that the Bears and Steelers have right now. Total amateurs protecting those qbs ( Steelers due to injury ). Think Daniels was the better qb last year by a mile but was dinged for his frame.
