Spent a few years around there - in my experience Stokes/Yadkin/Wilkesboro county hid none of their illicit activities - seemed rather proud in displaying them and flaunting their “Southern Nature”.

And yes - there are a few down there who absolutely do make ‘shine. Most of it is undrinkable - but a select few that aren’t horrible.

No money on it of course these days - do it more as a point of tradition and pride.
