Have anyone here ever sent a torn money ect to the Mutilated Currency Dept in dc

l tore a 100 bill in half by mistake about a month ago.ok long story short, i took the bill to the local post office here and got a cerified letter and sent it to dc about 4 weeks ago....if they say ok, they will credit your checking account as you had to send in rounting numbers and all.ok 4 weeks later nothing and forget about calling them..........it no way it seems

yes if it torn all the way the bank will not take it today, maybe yrs ago, but not today at least wells fargo will not

i dont want to feel like a loser by tearing a $1 bill then going to bank
