There's plenty of bad trades throughout history but yeah the Browns really screwed up getting Deshaun. They should have played Jameis Winston a lot earlier than they did because there's not that much of a drop off between the two guys and I think at this point Jameis might be better.

Also the worst NFL trade of all time imo was Minnesota trading the farm for Hershel Walker. Dallas got three super bowls out of it and numerous future Hall of Famers.

The thing about a trade involving picks is - the value is largely dependent on the persons making the picks and their ability to not screw them up.

The Browns have long demonstrated they have absolutely no ability to make reliable first round picks. So 3 first rounders for Deshaun - not really a horrible trade as it would have just been 3 selections cut and playing elsewhere or nowhere in 2 years.

They get lucky in later rounds and the occasional free agent they can convince to play in Cleveland - but first rounders not named Myles Garrett - not a great track record there.
