I will be updating this thread regularly. Gambling is huge in this part of the world. It is done differently than we are used to in America. I will be making posts about gambling, travel, culture, food, girls, and much more. Many people have no idea about Vietnam and they think it is something that it's the complete opposite. It was one of the poorest countries in the world and now the economy is booming, the skyline here in the big cities is amazing. If you guys have any questions about life here please ask. I consider myself an expert Expat living in Vietnam. I have traveled extensively to all the South East Asian countries as well as other Asian countries. I am on my 3rd passport of 56 pages. I have gambled in all of them and have some crazy stories and experiences. I go to al the National games for Soccer here as well as the V league games. I have a lot of great photos to share as well. This is Singapore, the Marina Bay Sands, they also have a huge casino here with a sportsbook. There is no wagering on American sports. Soccer and Nascar only. The casino is very nice with high limits. Last time I was there tables were $50-100k. They don't have craps. The casino is for foreigners, if you are a Singaporean resident you can enter but you must pay $100 to enter. It is the same for Vietnam. There are Casino's all over Vietnam for foreigners only. However a few years ago a very nice Casino was built in Phu Quoc Island where Vietnamese are allowed to gamble. Singapore is extremely nice and it is very cheap to fly there for me. It is 3 hours and 20 minutes from me, round trip is $130.

Back in the day I had a Vietnamese barber/stylist. I used to always drive her crazy asking questions about Vietnam. Actually I think she loved it.

I wouldn't imagine the sportsbook is very popular with only soccer and NASCAR betting available. Why only those sports?

It is extremely popular and very crowded. I asked them for NFL and NBA, they had no idea what was talking about. They do have NBA, NFL and other sports in the casinos in Cambodia.

Soccer is the biggest sport here. Keep in mind, I am an American and and know American sports and the culture. I have been to over 20 UFC events, 2 Superbowls, 2 Final Fours, , 7 World Series and countless regular season games in different sports. I can honestly say I have never seen anything like the crowd celebration in Vietnam for their national team. It is something I was completely shocked at first. They go absolutely crazy for their national team and the U23 team. Their womens team is in the World Cup this year for the first time ever. The streets get absolutely crazy, fires everywhere, drunk people driving around, 32 people died last year during a celebration here from accidents. They are great and win a lot of the big tournaments. It is something to see, I travel to all their national games and the support is absolutely amazing! If you ever come here, it is a must that you go to a Soccer game here. They also have been a cash cow the last 5 years.

Correct, at first it was a shock then I saw what was going on at the book. Heavy action , There were guys live betting the Indian leagues 20-30k bets. One thing that life taught me about living here is there is a whole other world out there that we as Americans don't really know or understand about.
