I understand it - I do.

At the same time - just like the same argument that gets made every year about the Baseball HOF - when your career is over - your stats are what they are.

Waiting 1 month, 1 year or 1 decade won’t change anything about who you were on the field or the impact you had. They wont be any more or less impactful and they deserved the honor.

It sucks that some deserving of the honor waited longer - but that doesn’t diminish the impact of someone who was honored quicker or imply those who waited longer were less impactful. You are either a HOF or your not:

How about Colorado do the right thing and honor the guys from the ‘90 team and start honoring guys who went on to outstanding pro careers who haven’t been acknowledged. These 2 were great college players - but they haven’t done jack in the NFL yet.
