I believe this will be a fixed match , just as I believed that the match Ukraine played against Scotland was fixed. Soccer is one of the most corrupt sports to be bet on and there are matches that are fixed on a regular basis.

Watching all the pre-match press for the match against Scotland, it seemed obvious to me that FIFA was going to let the Ukrainian national team advance to the World Cup as a "feel good" statement being victims of war. In a lame attempt to try to make the Scotland match seem legitimate, international press interviewed players from Scotland and they said they would certainly try to win the match to try to go on to the World Cup. I believe FIFA had other plans.

Note: many books give out lines that are only good for the 90 minutes played plus 4 - 10 minutes added stoppage time. If you bet PK in cases like this and the match goes into overtime or results in shootout kicks after overtime, your bet ends at the end of stoppage time. So if the 2 teams are tied before overtime, you would get a push with this bet. There are books that offer bets "team to advance", meaning that your bet includes overtime and shootout kicks after overtime.

No way FIFA will not guarantee that Ukraine goes on to the World Cup. This Ukrainian team will advance.

u act like it's so easy to fix a match like this is wwe wrestling and the outcome is pre determined, do u know all that would need to be involved fix a match like this, would take alot of money and people risking careers and jail time if they got caught, and ukraine just played wednesday so had to get all this done in 4 days

Thanks for the explanation and you make some good points. I simply need to bring up all the soccer scandals of the past for the basis of my reasoning.

This doesn't need to be done in just 4 days. This could have been decided weeks ago and also could have included the Scotland match.

It doesn't have to take a lot of money or a lot of people. It just needs to involve FIFA and the players.

Yes, I admit, I read this one wrong. I guess the result against Scotland encouraged me to think this way.

But this won't be the last time I've made a wrong wager or read a match wrong. But I still keep posting my opinion anyway and will continue to do so.

Nothing would surprise me. You see it often in major sports when a disaster strikes in those cities they often win. Whether it is pure coincidence, motivation, or someway fixed it does happen often enough to make you consider it and just part of capping a game.
