Targeted offer based on your average bet size and how bad they want your business.
I know these books are becoming more and more sophisticated but, do you think they actually target clients and vary the offer by their bet size?

I just would be surprised they would even post a $10 offer to anyone regardless of their bet size. Its so small, it would seem like more work (because there's always issues CS has to deal with on these - see Bigjay thread) than it was worth to the book.

Absolutely they target their offers.

Just like land based casinos - your probably not getting an email unless you already signed up and played with them (as you needed to opt in to advertising - otherwise it could easily be a violation of the spam act).

So say you signed up - sent them $5 for the 200 or whatever the deal is - they are going to offer a few small things to get your back in the door if your inactive.

Remember these apps aren’t built for “serious” gamblers - they are built for “lotto player” types - the player who will take a 8 leg parlay for $5 and hope to win $500. So for that player - doubling the deposit looks like a good deal.

My DraftKings for example is usually $500 per offer these days - used to see $1k but I’ve been cut - likely based on a combination of not using the account except for profit boost/ no sweats and lower net sizes on the few bets I do place without these (props mainly as they have best selection and don’t get all bent out of shape when I play Kolzig picks and win - unlike some smaller offshore books).

Targeted offers are weird though - I get great offers from PennPlay via mail - I’m only on their radar via a partnership with a cruise company and the amount of play I might give on an average cruise is probably under $50 a week. Last year I was offered 3 nights hotel / $500 f&b / $500 free play and up to $800 air reimbursement (Vegas was one option - as was Detroit - hell for $800 I could probably charter a small plane from Cleveland to Detroit).

I get these stupid offers all the time from ESPN, MGM and BetRivers - all $5-10 refunds. But I’m on a few mail list from offshore and the offers are much better as they recognize my level of play.

I'm just shocked they waste their time with $10 offers.

It’s all automated email -no effort at all.

System generated offers - all done via bot.

And like mentioned - they aren’t targeting bettors - they are trying to MAKE them.

Any good dealer knows - you just give them a taste free. $10 for $10 is nothing to us - but to a 18 year old kid who plays those 8 leg prop parlays - it’s a second chance to hit it big.

These apps aren’t dumb - well crafted marketing. They don’t want to attract guys betting $500 a game - they want guys betting $5 a game as those bettors will take the risk and worst case a 30-1 shot hits and someone gets $150 - they won’t cash out - they will just chase it again and lose. Highly profitable market.
