Why - forums are free and have as good if not better insight into games.

Everyone “claims” to have an edge to share - if they really believed their own BS - they would be playing and not selling.

People post to forums free to gain a following - giving it away - some hope to be able to charge someday. Others just enjoy the discussion and gaining additional insight free.

The real question is - why would a “pro” spend money on products ?

The goal is to get the right side as cheaply as possible and create an advantage. Giving away money on subscriptions is the equivalent to paying a higher vig on your bets.

No one goes 100% long term - use your own ability and supplement with the available free data and insight and maintain an advantage - don’t give it away supporting someone else’s habit.

Say the same thing about so called professional traders who rely on all those pay sites for investment advice.

40 years ago - getting a volume of information was hard - it made sense to pay a service that compiled info for you for simplicity sake.

Today so much free info out there and not that hard to find. Like the aforementioned lines service - many have free or low cost options - what “advantages” do you gain for using the higher priced options ? More timely updates ?

Old “pros” are likely stuck in their way more than anything. There are people who still read newspapers too - but that base is fading fast.
