Throughout my adult life I've consistently heard about great private poker games, only to inevitably hear about how they go south. Cheating, robberies, police busts, you name it. In '04 a friend of a friend was killed in a private game in NYC when a robber dropped his shotgun and it discharged shells through the guy's chest.

The casino poker world is far from perfect, but it's a far better option than private games.
