Do you change your strategy when you’re down money?

Say it’s like Thursday and you’re down a decent amount. Do you change it up with betting amounts?

Amount stays the same.

Might tighten up on the number of plays each day if I'm losing.... Just be a little more selective but amount bet is flat based on bankroll.

I apply more variance to each play and that usually gives me the edge, works most of the time. I appreciate and cherish the variance calculator that @KVB graced his followers with.

I usually push all in and hope for the best. One time I was drunk and bet $1,200 on a -220 NHL favorite.

Do you change it up with betting amounts?

You should change your bet size the least amount and least often that you can.

Changing your bet size will change your breakeven point, and usually not for the better.

There are some exception, like partial Kelly betting, but that's a different level and different faith in your confidence and edge estimation, something we don't see much of around BMR.

So most should heed the advice and only change their bet size when they've stepped up or stepped down to a predetermined level of bankroll.
