ESPN is planning on launching a new streaming stand-alone service this fall. You'll have to pay an extra subscription to get many of the football games that were part of an already purchased package (e.g. Hulu, Youtube, googleTV,etc...)...

I didn't think watching games could get much more expensive but I was clearly mistaken.

But, they did raise the monthly price $5 when they added it.

The big difference with this new service I think ESPN is now included whereas before if you had ESPN plus it was just an add-on to your TV provider

Yeah I have the Disney plus bundle for the kids which gets me the ESPN+ content, win/win for both parties.

Any good shows you could recommend on there? I was watching ”the bear” and they just seemed to yell at each other too much all the time lol. It was fucking annoying couldn’t get past the first half of season 1.

They want one of the leagues to take a minority position in the deal.

IE NHL buys 49% of ESPN for $10B and the new venture is 51/49 with NHL getting primary focus and all games on TV
