Anyone else watch this trial? I have not but I've seen dozens of clips of the first 13 days of the trial on tiktock. Today (day 14 I think) is closing arguments so I've got it on live streaming.

If you are unfamiliar with this guy, Brooks, 40, is accused of driving his red Ford Escape through the crowd of the Waukesha Christmas Parade on Nov. 23, 2021, killing six and injuring dozens of others. During this trial:
  1. He opted to represent himself (mistake #1)
  2. Claimed he's a sovereign citizen so he doesn't have to abide by the laws or courts of the US or Wisconsin (mistake #2)
  3. Disrespected the judge numerous times making objection after objection and had to be removed to another room to watch and interact via remote video (mistake #3)
  4. Claims he is actually not Darrell Brooks and is only in the court room to help respresent whomever Darrell Brooks is in this case. It goes on and on.
This may be interesting if the judge lets him do his thing during closing arguments in front of the jury.

He really is. What's strange is he tries to sound coherent by quoting sections of law from a book but he's an idiot because 99% of the time what he quoting in his objections is not applicable to the situation. He does this over and over to delay, delay, delay.

He even said the charges should be thrown out because they spelled his name DARRELL BROOKS on the charging documents. I don't spell my name in all capitals so its not me. After admitting his name, he then said, "I am not Darrell Brooks anyway. I am only here to represent Darrell". SMH.

Sounds like he definitely has some issues. But regardless he's probably going to get the book thrown at him and be in jail for the rest of his life
Yep. Wisconsin does not have death penalty.

This guy will try to appeal guaranteed. He'll lose appeal because this judge it making sure the trial is executed according to the law dispite this idiots interruptions and bulls#it.

No way. Insane means he can't be found guilty and can be released at some point in the future following treatment.

Granted he is 100% an imbicile but not insane.
Not in Wisconsin. A NG plea by mental disease means he goes to an institution for the duration of the sentences associated w his crimes. As with those same charges, he'd be eligible in 25 years to petition for parole (as he would w murder charges) so this is just a waste of time by the DA.

They should plea this out

Wow. The judge has let him back into the courtroom.
He had been sitting in a separate room and communicating via video due to his disruptions of the court. I guess they have to let him in the courtroom for closing arguments.
