Really not the teams fault - but at this point - I’m sure they will take any distraction they can get so people don’t mention their record.

Really really stupid on the United pilots part - allowing someone with a camera to film. Again - they likely don’t give a shit though - the market for pilots is pretty tight and if their union - it’s an infraction - 38 more and they go on warning status likely - they have nothing to fear for job wise.

Airline is gonna just scapegoat them while doing nothing - pre 9/11 this really isn’t a thing. Even post 9/11 - pre all the Alaska Airlines issues not a big deal. This was a CHARTER and co-pilot and navigator were right there and able to take control in a second.

Really - how is it any different having a civilian sitting there versus a flight attendant when the pilot gets up to use the restroom ? You think the flight attendant is trained on flying a plane ?

If it were a regular passenger flight - yea - not a good look. But it’s a charter - this stuff happens. Wanna bet me that if Taylor Swift or some pop star chartering a jet says “Hey - can I come sit up in the cockpit for a minute - I really think it’s interesting what you do” - they aren’t being escorted up there once plane is at altitude and being given the grand tour?

It's an intimate flight they probably know each other. Pilots want to be cool for the team, etc.
