i feel like it would be so uncomfortable running with a phone in your back pocket??? he probably forgot
I don’t know but carrying your phone while playing in a mlb game should be banned, kinda like jewelry thing, it’s gotten out of hand all the stuff these guys wear around their necks, but I’m old fashioned and it may just be me

It is illegal to have any electronic devices in the dugout per MLB rules (thank you Houston Astros). The only devices allowed are MBL issued Ipads.

Granted is was a simple mistake but, I'm surprised MLB didn't fine PIT for the screw up.
Maybe because its the Pirates, the MLB front office said, they've been through enough over the years. :ROFLMAO:

damn illegal for having an electronic device in the dugout? so ifit's illegal then does it usually result in a fine? or warning first, etc

I know Apple watches and simliar deveices are not allowed.

This could be an interesting topic to discuss. MLB wanted to remove electronics to avoid the Houston Astos debacle. But, they are somewhat incorporating them into the game more and more each day (e.g. catchers/pitcher devices - to stop sign stealing). Ipads so they can pull up info on opposing pitchers/batters.

MLB is providing each team with three transmitters, 10 receivers and a charging case for the PitchCom Pitcher Catcher Communication Device. It is available in English and Spanish.

MLB allows for biometric monitoring by players but they must use a WHOOP device. $1200. So I guess other devices are not allowed.
